Workshop for Media Practitioners on the Access to information Bill

New grounds for the delay in enactment of the Access to Information Bill have been made in Malawi. The Bill has remained in draft for some years now partly due to lack of parliamentary time. However, recently government has indicated that in the absence of an Access to information Policy enactment of the Access to information Bill will not proceed. This is very frustrating considering that the Bill was championed by media practitioners single handedly. The challenge now is that development of a policy in Malawi takes a number of years and could make the draft Bill obselete.
