CURE was established in March 1994 in an effort to improve networking amongst NGOs, the Government of Malawi donors, and other organisations or individuals working in the broadly defined environmental sector. CURE’s goal is to promote good environment governance for sustainable livelihoods. To this end, CURE seeks to strengthen the capacity of NGOs and CBOs, and promote civil society participation in policy formulation and implementation for the overall management of the environment and natural resources at national, district, and community levels.
