The Asociation for Defense of Nature (PRODENA) was funded in 1979 and is the second oldest environmental organization in Bolivia. We participated actively in Rio 92, and since then we have been following international laws and agreements, and have been lobbying for biodiversity conservation, and access to environmental information, participation and justice . In 1993, the first Ministry of Sustainable Development in the world was stablished in Bolivia, partly due to our activities. We have been promoting sustainable development till 2007. Once we realized the gravity of climate change we shifted towards resilient development.
